The Hunger Site - Visit everyday!
The shortest path to a healthy global
environment is through education. But education about
global environmental issues means little to people who
are starving. Visit this site, click on the "donate
food" button, and each site sponsor will pay for 1/4
cup of food for a starving person. Take a few seconds to
click on a sponsor ad also as this encourages businesses
to continue supporting the site. Only one click per day
counts, so visit once a day everyday and encourage others
to do the same! This is the most
important click you will make on your computer today!
American Rivers
This national conservation organization is
dedicated to protecting and restoring America's river
systems and to fostering a river stewardship ethic.
Chernobyl
Charity Online
Visit
everyday!
Make a free donation of medicines for the
millions of Chernobyl victims who are seriously ill. Your
donation is fully paid for by corporate sponsors so it
costs you nothing.
Defenders of
Wildlife
Dedicated to the protection of all native wild
animals and plants in their natural communities, the
group's programs focus on what scientists consider two of
the most serious environmental threats to the planet: the
accelerating rate of extinction of species and the
associated loss of biological diversity, and habitat
alteration and destruction. Join the Defenders Electronic Network to use their online action center and receive a
free bi-weekly e-mail newsletter with tips and ideas for
action.
Earth Island Institute
Perhaps best known for
organizing the consumer-led boycott resulting in the
requirement that all tuna be dolphin-safe, the Institute
works to bring "environmental sustainability to all
spheres of human activity." You can register for
free e-membership to help expand the grassroots network
and bolster project campaigns. e-Members will receive
IslandWire, a monthly e-mail newsletter that provides
periodic updates covering breaking news, views, and
urgent actions at Earth Island.
The "Take Action" section provides action alerts on current
issues. There is also a list of employment and volunteer
opportunities with Earth
Island.
Environmental Defense Fund (EDF)
EDF provides many resources in the News You Can Use section on topics regarding the home and
garden, recycling, wildlife, offices, schools, global
warming, and automobiles. Learn about actions you can
take now to help the environment in the What Can I Do to Help? section. Fill in your zip code to learn what's
polluting your neighborhood and who's responsible.
Join the Action Network to receive timely updates on issues that need
your action. As a frequent e-mail user, you can be part
of the Environmental Defense Action Network, a vital
force to influence environmental policy in your home
state, in Washington, DC, and around the globe. Designed
for rapid response when key issues are about to be
decided, by signing up, you are committing to weigh in
with your opinion at least three times per year.
The Environment

Daily!
Visit this site everyday,
click the leaf, and sponsors will make a donation to the
Environmental Resources Trust (ERT) to reduce global
warming. There is no cost to you and no personal
information is required.
Friends of
Animals, Inc. (FoA)
FOA provides updates and suggests actions on
current issues. Get information on FoA's reduced-cost
spay-neuter program and learn how to help a veterinarian
sign up for the program. FoA will send a 22' by 10'
billboard free of charge to individuals or groups able to
secure their own billboard space. The two color billboard
says "Fix Them or Kill Them- It's your
decision" and gives FoA's 1-800 national spay/neuter
hotline number.

fundraising and public relations efforts and they offer

by working to restore the integrity of the
elements that sustain life and to defend endangered
natural places. In the Earth Action Center you'll find tools, tips, and information you

cleaner, healthier environment and a safer world. They
work in the areas of green living, agriculture, arms

requiring your action, usually contacting an elected

nationwide network of support for wild lands. Through the
weekly e-mail newsletter Wild Alerts, TWS provides information on wilderness issues
and suggests actions to help preserve wild places.

updated on results of CAN efforts.
